Investigation of Stream Interfaces in the Heliosphere

The heliosphere is structured by solar wind streams of various origins. Their interfaces can be identified in-situ and serve as effective barriers for the propagation of energetic particles. Here, we want to investigate how well local plasma signatures relate to fluxes of energetic particles. This work will begin by porting existing program code to the local computing environment. Subsequently, data from two instruments, SWICS and KET, will need to be investigated. The work requires a solid background in physics and good programming skills.
